The goal was and continues to be to connect high school students with college students for personalized campus tours, offering deeper insights than group tours while providing college students with a flexible way to earn. Problem Identification
When my brother toured colleges in 2023, I arranged one-on-one tours with my friends, which he found far more insightful than group tours. Research confirmed that campus visits shape decisions, yet most students get generic experiences. Seeing this gap, we created Skala to offer a more personalized way to explore colleges.
Product Conceptualization
Once the problem had been identified, I designed and wire-framed our platform that connects high school students with college students for personalized campus visits. Using Figma, I prototyped 30+ interfaces and defined MVP requirements based on a structured product roadmap.
Product Management
Working closely with the development team via GitHub, I have been continuously working on feature prioritization and implementation while ensuring the resolution of bugs to improve product stability.
User Testing & Research
Applying Agile methodologies and user research across key consumer groups, I have been iterating on designs based on qualitative and quantitative feedback, enhancing usability and engagement.
Marketing & Brand Strategy
I drive Skala’s brand image and growth strategy, leading multi-channel campaigns across social media, Google Ads, and email to boost adoption. Managing content creation, I helped generate 10,000+ views and secured 100+ college student signups in the first week. By aligning data-driven marketing with brand storytelling, I continue to scale awareness and user engagement.
Outcome
This experience continues to shape my skills in product management, UX design, and strategic decision-making as I navigate the challenges of building and scaling Skala. Leading product development, marketing, and user engagement, I’m constantly learning how to refine a vision, adapt to user needs, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive impact. Through this journey, I’m developing a deeper understanding of leading a product from concept to execution while staying agile and user-focused.
